kearns-building

Kearns Waste Sciences Group Inc. (KWSG) is a privately held waste management corporation. We design and build the Kearns Disintegration Units to disintegrate Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) in an auto-thermic (non-externally fuelled) combustion process.

Located on Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada, Kearns Waste Sciences Group (KWSG) has developed a new, state of the art, waste management system. Exceeding its anticipated performance, the technology is now moving to commercialization.

The KDS architecture is extremely innovative and represents a significant advancement of the incineration technology. Its radically new design approach eliminates those deficiencies and the public's negative perception associated with incinerators of today.

The KDS technology has already been tested for throughput on a 20 tons per day prototype and for emissions on a 5 tons per day prototype. The latter test was conducted in North Sydney, Nova Scotia, by an independent laboratory, AMEC Earth and Environmental, from May 30 through June 1, 2000.

ISO Certification is in process for the new innovative patented technology.

10 In one day, Britain produces enough waste to fill Trafalgar Square to the top of Nelson's Column, more than 400 million tonnes in a year.
